VOLUNTEER CLEARANCE
REQUIREMENTS
The School District of Philadelphia requires any adult who wants to volunteer inside of a District school to have clearances on file and renew them every five years.
WHO NEEDS CLEARANCES?
Anyone who plans to volunteer inside the school without faculty supervision or chaperone a field trip will need to complete a Volunteer Clearance Packet and submit it to Ms. G in the main office or email them to her at mgonzalez2@philasd.org.
Generally, if your duties do not include direct contact and/or supervision of students and you will be working alongside school staff, you do not need clearances. Some examples include: holiday or birthday party assistance in the classroom, school assemblies, secret reader, etc.
